Learning and Development: Development opportunities and scope for learning have long been sound attractors and retainers. Learning organisations are built and sustained on this principle. Learning and development are not of course synonymous with training. Training is essential to up-skill a person to do their job. Learning and development are about growth and opportunity. To be successful applied as rewards, learning and development opportunities need to be targeted: fewer opportunities present greater competition and posses greater value to staff. Make sure that value is not wasted and target real performers.
