Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): If you can measure the value and satisfaction of a program it will succeed. If it cannot be measured, it will fail. Measure the direct elements such as cost and satisfaction: but also measure the associated and trailing indicators. Impact on unscheduled absenteeism; staff turnover; customer satisfaction all provide rich information about the impact and ultimate return on investment. Establish specific targets for teams or work areas and provide incentives for achieving and exceeding targets.
